For web developers who need to test their site in different versions of IE, Microsoft now provides virtual machines that contain several versions of IE (IE 6, 7, 8b2 on XP SP3, IE 7 on Vista).The VMs were built for Microsoft's Virtual PC (free download), but can also be used in VMWare Workstation (a conversion takes place when you first open the .vmc file). The OS license in the VM runs out in April '09. Until then, use the VMs to test your site, or to surf safely, from a self-contained environment.
